As they grow (all too quickly, most parents might add!), you will look back on those early years with nostalgia. Your children, too, will want to look back and see pictures of themselves in their youth. As a bay area photographer who is also a parent myself, I understand this nostalgia. My kids’ early years are some of the most precious to me.

That is why I am so glad I have been able to capture some very special moments in photographs, and largely why I have become a bay area photographer. My family and child photography practice is focused on letting the unique qualities of each child and each family come through in the photographs I take. I choose natural and personal settings over impersonal portrait studios with artificial lighting. Bay Area Photography for the FamilyChildhood memories last a lifetime, both for children and parents. As a Bay Area children photographer, my job is to help families capture, in an artistic and charming manner, the little nuances that make their child unique. Each infant, toddler, and child is distinctly his- or herself, and I believe that portrait photography should allow room for those unique qualities to shine through into the final photographs.

That is why I prefer to shoot in far more personal settings than a traditional, stark portrait studio. Your child shines most in familiar and enriching environments, such as parks, your back yard, or your own home. My role as a bay area child photographer is to use these settings and the beauty of natural light to capture the most moving and memorable images of your child.
